The dork who haunts me from the past

I hope that I am not the only one who has a super duper dorky past-life.  I get a lot of teasing at work about being in the miss academic Idaho pageant and so for the fun of it, I decided to see if I could dig up some old video clips.  Much of the pageant was recorded over with other home videos, including the dance routine we had to learn.  It was probably on purpose too, I mean who really wants to watch a bunch of academics trying to dance.  I did however, find a couple other dancing clips from my youth so I added them together in this little video:





Because this pageant is for nominations only, not many people get to hear about it so let me tell you just how awesomely dorky it is... We didn't have any swimsuit or physical contests at all.  We had to fill out a resume with all our special classes, community or activity involvement, experience, awards and GPA. We also had to take a big test full of randomness and we had to interview in front of a panel of judges. We all learned a dance so that we could have something entertaining for the grand finale show.  The finale show picked the top five candidates and interviewed them in front of the crowd and a panel of judges. I did not make that top five, frankly I was shocked to be there at all because the other girls were amazing!

You know you are a dork when...
- your friend's parents ask to pay you to tutor your friends
- you read and do math word problems for fun at sleepovers
- you can play a guitar hero song with your back to the tv
- you practice barrel racing in your yard where everyone can see
- you were vice president of key club
- you know all the words to all the N'SYNC songs and you love boy bands!
